UV Skinz 3-piece sun protection clothing Review and #GIVEAWAY!! {US and Canada}

It's been really hot here in Tennessee! I mean nearly hitting triple digits for the last month or so! Needless to say, that does not deter this mama from taking her littles to the pool and/or water park to get cooled off! Sometimes we just go out to the back yard and have a good old fashioned water gun fight! Skin cancer is a major thing to consider when playing outside in the heat! I've been slathering my boys with sunscreen all summer long. Then I came across UV Skinz!
What are UV Skinz? I'm glad you asked! UV Skinz is a sun protective clothing line, and offer sun protective clothing with UPF 50+ for the whole family! Their UPF sun protection clothing blocks out 98% of the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays!
Here is a little more information about UV Skinz (information taken from UV Skinz website):
"What we do?
As one of the early sun protective clothing companies in the U.S., UV Skinz is proud to provide the highest quality, affordable, fun and worry-free UPF 50+ sun protection wear for the entire family.
Commonly referred to as SPF clothing, our sunwear for babies, kids, men and women includes swim shirts or sun shirts in the smallest baby UV swimwear sizes up to hard-to-find plus size UV protective swimwear for men and women. While UV protective hats and clothing are best, we keep you covered from head to toe with our carefully screened selection of broad-spectrum mineral block and organic sunscreens, UV shorts and other sun protection accessories....
Why is protective swimwear so important for children?
Most children will experience 50-80% of their lifetime sun exposure before the age of 18 so teaching sun safe skin and eye health habits from day one is crucial. UV Skinz keeps babies and kids covered from top to bottom in reversible kids' UV buckets hats, long and short sleeved UV swim shirts, UV board shorts and UV boy-cut shorts. UV Skinz bright and colorful separates are designed to be mixed and matched with the added benefit of helping you to be able to easily spot your little ones during water play time or in crowded public places. But kids shouldn't have all the fun! UV Skinz sun protective wear line for adults now includes adult long-sleeve and short-sleeve UV swim shirts, women's and men's UV boardshorts, women's UV boy-cut shorts, women's UV swim bras, women's V-neck swim shirts and women's long-sleeve full zip-up swim shirts for easy on and off.
What makes UV Skinz so unique?
Unlike typical rashguards or other protective swim shirts available on the market, UV Skinz are intended to fit snugly but not skin tight which allows for maximum freedom of movement and comfort all day long. The t-shirt like design lets you breathe comfortably just as the micro fiber silky smooth material breathes while wicking moisture for quick drying. UV Skinz UPF swim shirts are also designed with lightweight fabrics, larger than normal neck holes, flat-lock stitching and an absence of appliqués that often irritate skin."

After reading all the wonderful reviews (and seeing Mathew McConaughey's son Levi) pictured on the UV Skinz website, I really wanted to try them. The awesome folks at UV Skinz agreed to send me, not one, but two sets for my boys to try!
This is what I received:
For my 4 yo I was sent the Navy Ocean Camo set which came with a pair of board shorts, swim shirt and reversible bucket hat! (left)

For my 2 yo I was sent the Silly Fish set which came with a pair of board shorts, swim shirt and reversible bucket hat! (right)
Here is the Navy Ocean Camo:
The silly fish:
Aren't they gorgeous? You wouldn't believe how soft and supple they are, the shirts are very similar to a regular swimsuit!
Oh, and if I only had a little girl *Swoon*

We put our UV Skinz to the test! I had been meaning to take the boys to the pool, but they recently just got over having sore throats and colds and I didn't want them getting worse, or passing all their germs on to other kids! So, we went out back and played!
Here are both by boys, just as cheeky as can be in their UV Skinz:

Yes, we LOVE our UV Skinz!! It was so nice to be able to let them play out in the Tennessee sun and not have to worry about slathering them up with sunscreen!
And so UV Skinz, our hats are off to you!
Thank you for making such an awesome quality sun protective clothing for my boys! Not only are they adorable, but comfortable, fashionable, keep you well protected and affordable!

UV Skinz not only offers swimwear for kids, but they also have swim wear for women and men! They sell sunscreens and lotions, and a wide variety of sun hats for women, men, babies, kids and youth!

Lucky for you, UV Skinz has generously offered one LWML reader the chance to win a 3-piece set of their own! Also, you can enter the code "BLOGS15" to receive 15% off your purchase at http://www.uvskinz.com/

Eco Vessel Stainless Steel Insulated Straw Bottle review and #GIVEAWAY {US}

It's hot here! I mean like in the 100's + almost every day! Sometimes we will get a thunderstorm at night which will bring the temps down to about 90 or so the next day! No matter the heat, I have made a vow to get my kids outside every day for at least 20 minutes. This is just a promise I made to myself and to them when they were born. I think it is really important for littles to be out and about for part of the day! It's so important to keep yourself and your littles hydrated while playing in such heat. I used to pack sippy cups and/or juice boxes for the littles and always had my Kleen Kanteen for myself. These went along to the pool or water park or wherever we would venture to, but by the time they were thirsty, our drinks would be hot, if not room-temp! This was really annoying, and so I set off to find something that would keep our drinks cold (without having to tote a cooler along)!
This search led me to Eco Vessel! Eco Vessel offers a wide variety of water bottles. They have filtration bottles, insulated steel bottles, Tritan water bottles (which are made out of a BPA-free plastic), single wall steel bottles (non-insulated), and a limited edition double wall glass bottle!
Eco Vessel also offers a bunch of cool stuff for littles such as stainless steel insulated sippy cups, stainless steel insulated straw flip bottles and stainless steel snack cups, and even a collapsible silicone lunch box!
I was so excited when Eco Vessel agreed to send me a sample for my review. I was sent 1 Summit 17 oz. straw top insulated bottle in 'lily pink' and 1 Frost 13 oz. straw top insulated bottle in 'silver express.'
This is what I received:
This is a view of the top of the Frost bottle (pictured left):

Here is the description of the 17 oz Summit bottle taken from Eco Vessel's website:

"DESCRIPTION
The Eco Vessel Insulated Straw Bottle is the perfect bottle for those of you constantly on the go. Like our other bottles, this Eco Vessel will keep your beverages cold for hours. The new straw top makes drinking easier so you can drink from the bottle without unscrewing the cap or tipping the bottle back. And, because of its specially designed handle, the straw won't open accidentally in your car, lunchbox, or bag. The detachable silicone straw makes cleaning the bottle easier, too. As always, our Eco Vessel Insulated Straw bottle is made from the highest quality, premium grade #304 Stainless Steel, are 100% recyclable, and of course, BPA Free. Rest assured knowing that your bottle was crafted safety, ease of use, and convenience in mind.
•Insulated to maintain cold for hours
•Made from #304, 18/8 Food Grade stainless steel
•Straw top for easy sipping
•Removable straw top for easy cleaning
•One-piece top includes a strong carrying loop
•Slim design is easy to hold while you run or workout
•100% Recyclable, BPA Free
•Bottle Dimensions: 3 inches wide at base, 9.5 inches tall

Warning:
Due to the removable spout on the straw top, this bottle is not recommended for children under 8 years old."

Here is the description of the 13 oz Frost bottle taken from Eco Vessel's website:

DESCRIPTION

"It's exactly what you've been waiting for! An Eco Vessel Insulated bottle made especially for kids 4 and up! This bottle uses our same Insulation Technology as our others, so your child can keep drinks cold all day, and it is made with a top specially designed for easier drinking through our easy-sip straw. The drinking spout is made of tightly bonded TPR material, so it is not only stronger and won't fall off in your child's lunch bag, but it's safe, too! With five different designs to choose from and the quality you've come to expect from Eco Vessel, this bottle is sure to make your life easier, and your child's more fun.
•Vacuum Insulation Technology and two walls of high grade steel will keep your child's drink cold for hours!
•Easy-Drinking Flip Straw Top includes a strong carrying loop
•BPA free, made from 100% recyclable materials
•ONLY for Children 4 and Older, Lifetime Warranty."

These bottles are GREAT! They really keep your cold drinks cold! I would recommend them to anyone I know! However I did experience a bit of a problem with the kid's bottle (the 13 oz Frost bottle) at no fault to Summit or the bottle's design. You see, my 4 yo son is a chewer. He likes to put things in his mouth and chew away!
While we were driving home from the playground one day I noticed it was unusually quiet in the backseat. As we stopped at a red light I looked back to discover my son joyfully chewing away on the straw of his new Eco Vessel! I snagged it out of his hands and realized at home that he had totally ruined the straw top to his bottle:
Since this bottle is designed for kids ages 4 and up, the silicone straw cap does not come off, as it does with the Summit bottle (intended for kids 8 and up)! It is stuck to the bottle in order to prevent posing a chocking hazard. I contacted Eco Vessel to ask if there was a replacement top that I could purchase. They directed me to the adult bottle replacement tops (which the silicone straw can be removed). Eco Vessel informed me that many parents simply use the adult top and take the silicone piece off an let the kids simply use the hard piece that is located underneath the silicone straw:

Or you can enter to win a set here!
Eco Vessel has generously offered one LWML reader the chance to win a 13 oz ($21.95) and 17 oz ($24.95) stainless steel set in winner's choice of color!

#GIVEAWAY $50 GC to Jacob's Room {think toys, gear, feeding, Melissa and Doug, KidCraft}!! {US}

I am so excited to share with you an AWESOME company that I came across the other week. While in the local teacher's store here in TN, my two boys ran to the Melissa and Doug Deluxe kitchen and played there QUIETLY the whole time I looked around. I was shocked. The store was having a 20% off sale that weekend for all 'in-stock' items. The Melissa and Doug deluxe kitchen retails for about $250.00! The store in my town was offering me the display model (that was all scratched up for $200!
I went home and did a google search and found Jacob's Room! Jacob's room was advertising the same kitchen for only $162.49 with free shipping! This price was even lower than Amazon's!! So after getting the green light from my husband, I bought it. The kitchen came in 2 large boxes and you know my husband and the boys had a blast putting it together!

When it was complete, the boys played with it for hours!

Amy is the owner over at Jacob's Room! This store is very dear to my heart! Here is some information about Jacob's Room from Amy herself:
"Jacob's Room is a children's store located in Wayne, NE. The store was started in memory of their son Jacob who died on August 28, 2004 after 9 beautiful hours. This store started as a mother's way to remember her son by bringing joy and happiness to children all over the country and has grown into an amazing ministry. Hearts and lives are touched every day as customers and those at Jacob's Room connect. Jacob had a beautiful heart that lives on with every child that smiles because of a gift from his store. A family's worst pain has been turned into so many wonderful memories. Visit or call Jacob's Room and you will find out it is more than just a store...."

What will you find over at Jacob's Room?
Jacob's room does not sell cloth diapers, but if you are in the market for stroller, car seats, diaper bags, toys {Melissa and Doug}, KidKraft furniture train tables and more, play yards, swings, bouncers, bath toys, kid's furniture, books and movies for babies and kids, then this is where you want to shop!

This is the next thing I plan to order for my boys from Jacob's Room:
Anyone want to guess how much that KidCraft table and chairs set is at Jacob's Room? Only $100.03 with FREE SHIPPING!!
So worth it!
So what are some of the other things you'll find at Jacob's Room?

This train set (above) is only $49.19

See anything you'd like? There are TONS of Melissa and Doug items too (which are a personal favorite of ours)! Wooden puzzles, plush toys, the list goes on and on!
Jacob's Room has generously offered a $50 GC giveaway here on my blog. Amy is a very understanding, and compassionate person and when I told her about my goal of getting an iPad in the hands of Coen's therapist, she generously stepped forward with this giveaway opportunity!

To enter, simply fill out the rafflecopter form below!
You may have to click 'read more' in order for the rafflecopter form to load completely!

A huge thank you to Amy for this giveaway and for A4cwsn for a chance to nominate Coen's therapist in order to hopefully win her an iPad to use in her sessions!

I'm trying to get an iPad for my friend Laura's son Coen's therapist Heather. Many of you remember the online raffle I held to get some money to help cover Coen's therapy/medical cost. If not, you can read about that here and here!

Sadly, in the state of Tennessee, the government does not pay for ANY of the cost involved for therapy sessions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), some insurances do, but it's not much!

Imagine how many special needs children could be helped if we can get an iPad in the hands of Heather Grinage, Coen's therapist!
I believe it possible, but I need your help.

Gary, of A4cwsn (Apps for children with special needs) is giving away 5 iPads to 5 nominated therapists! I have nominated Coen's therapist Heather, as well as some of Laura's family members and friends. The more nominations Heather receives, the better the chance of her receiving an iPad!
This giveaway is only for those who feel led to help in this cause and are willing to 'like" A4cwsn on FB, and fill out a form with your name and e-mail and the info below!
Let's pull together and nominate Heather (whom I have never personally met) and help get an iPad for her so she can use it to change lives of special needs children!

Here is what you need to do *this literaly takes 5 minutes*
1. "Like" A4cwsn on Facebook (remember A4cwsn is sponsoring a $100 GC to Babies R Us in the upcoming Flufftastic Summer Celebration event, from 10-24 August, so you can comment on the wall if you'd like and let them know I sent ya :)
2. Go here and fill out the form to nominate Coen's therapist!
Here is the info (besides your own personal info) you will need for the form:
For "name of person you are nominating" please put "Heather Grinage"
For the "school or therapy name" please put "Autism Foundation of Tennessee"
For teacher or therapist, please click "therapist"

Then leave a comment here on the blog with your name (must match name used on the form) and your e-mail address, and your Facebook username! (all which will be used to verify winners)!
This giveaway is sponsored by myself and Kim of Petite Bottoms in hopes that we can make a difference in the lives of children with special needs!
This contest will run from now until 29 August and is open to US and Canadian residents!

Winner will be drawn via random.org, e-mailed, posted to the blog and Facebook, and will have 48 hours to respond to claim their prize before another winner is picked!

BUT WAIT... THERE IS MORE!! Extra entries!!!
Get your friends/family to nominate Coen's therapist by taking the steps listed above, then you can come back here and leave another comment (with their information used for the nomination ie: the name used on the form for the nomination, YOUR e-mail address and THEIR FB name)! There is no maximum number of people you can claim that nominate on your behalf! Tweet, share, e-mail, call do whatever you wish!

Who is ready???
This is going to be fun! I love the chance to help people who are helping kids with special needs.
By all means, if your child or someone you know goes to therapy, you can nominate them as well! 5 therapists will received iPads and will be using them to change the lives of some very special kiddos!
The first therapist winner of one of the 5 iPads will be announced 1 September!

Also, just fyi (cuz I love you guys so much) A4cwsn is giving away a Nexus 7! Go here to enter this great giveaway!

Thanks for your support!

Better Life {Clean Happens} Camping kit review and #GIVEAWAY

I Soooo LOVE to clean my house! Ok, I soooo love to have a clean house lol! I don't mind cleaning my home in fact I rather enjoy it, but it has to be at nap time or in the evening when my littles are not underfoot. You know, you just spent 30 minutes folding laundry, go pee, come back and the laundry baskets are dumped and the littles are wallowing in the piles!! Yeah, not fun! But hey, they won't do this forever and I've learned to love every minute of it.
My boys play hard! We are always outside for at least 20 minutes every day! If we are not using the kiddie pool, slip and slide, or running through the sprinklers, you can find us at the local park!
My boys tromp through the house with wet grassy feet and then decide to play tag! You know, constantly cleaning! There was a framed picture hanging up in our home that read "cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling the walk while its still snowing." I never really understood that until I had littles of my own!
Recently I was given the opportunity to work with the kind folks over at Better Life! They sent me their floor care kit for review and I gave one away as well! You can read that review HERE!
I loved the floor care kit so much that I reached out to Better Life again and this time I was sent the camping kit for my review!

This is what I received:

This kit comes with the following:

32 oz. "What-EVER"! Which is their all-purpose unscented cleaner!
32 oz. "I Can See Clearly, WOW!" Which is their window and glass cleaner!
22 oz "Dish It Out" unscented dish liquid!
16 oz "Even The Kitchen Sink" unscented cleansing scrubber!
Scrubbing microfiber cloth
Six Compartment Caddy

I could not wait to try these products out!
So I set forth on a mission to find all things that needed cleaning! Mind you I didn't have to look very far! Since I had just finished lunch I decided to tackle the stove!
Before:

A couple sprays of the What-EVER!

Awesome!! This stuff is so great! It works so well too, oh and did I mention that it's all natural and non-toxic??
Since I was in the kitchen I decided to clean the kitchen sink. Yes, stainless steel, and I used the "even the Kitchen Sink" scrubbing cream!
Before:
I decided to do half of the circle around the garbage disposal to see the difference.
After applying the cream I used an old toothbrush to really get in there and get out all that grime:
A quick rinse and the difference is crystal clear!
Then I got excited and went to town on the whole kitchen caboodle!
 The finished product!

These products are really effective, safe for your family, pets, the environment and just plain AWESOME!! Did I mention how affordable they are as well? The above camping kit only costs $29.99 and you get free shipping on orders over $25.00!!
I use the what EVER after every single meal on our table, just one squirt and wipe away. It works great on counter tops and even grills! Yes, I used it to clean our gas grill, but forgot to take pics, so you'll just have to take me at my word on how well the what EVER removed black sticky soot from the grill!
I really like to use even the kitchen sink in the toilets. I spray the outside and lids of toilets with the what EVER and then use the cleansing scrubber cream of even the kitchen sink on the inside of the bowl. Really gets the toilet clean! With 3 guys in this house and 3 toilets, you know I'm always spraying and a wiping! Ok, maybe that's tmi!?
Moving right along! The Dish it out dish liquid is awesome! It really breaks through the greasiest of dishes and leaves them sparkling clean. I do dishes without gloves and I must say this product does not dry my hands, but instead leaves them feeling a bit soft and moisturized! Perhaps that's because it's infused with vitamin E and Aloe to nourish your hands!
Lastly, I used I Can See Clearly wow paired with the scrubbing microfiber cloth with the I can see clearly wow glass cleaner!
You can see the results clearly for yourself:
Before:
 After:

You can't really tell from the pics but there is a beautiful streak-free shine! I really LOVE all their products! I'm eager to try them all, and if I'm lucky maybe I will :)
Here is an interesting chart I found on Better Life's Website detailing the ingredients in their products as compared to other brands:
